Description:
A memorial consisting of three rectangular columns adjacent to a larger rectangular pillar. The columns and pillar are topped by a rectangular lintel. A light fixture extends above the sculpture and is attached to the rear of it. On the front of the rectangular pillar is an American eagle and a United States flag in relief. The memorial is mounted on a short slab base.

Remarks:
The memorial cost $4,400 and honors all veterans of Belleville who participated in each of the past national conflicts. The sculpture project was spearheaded by the Veterans Council. It was designed by Eugene Guass and built by A. H. Hopper. It replaces an earlier wood memorial, inscribed with veteran names. IAS files contain related articles from the Belleville Times-News, Jan. 16, 1959 through May 28, 1959.
