    Description: 
    This memorial to the First Regiment of the Michigan Sharpshooters depicts a Civil War soldier standing on a rocky ledge and aiming his gun out into the distance. On the rocky ledge to the soldier's proper right is a small bronze shield that features crossed cannon and anchor emblems and a coiled rope which forms the number "9." The sculpture rests on a stepped granite base.
