    A parlor interior where two men are seated at a table, one engrossed in a document resting on the tabletop beside vials of various sizes, and the other engaged in a conversation with a man standing opposite him, each with a hand raised to makes a point. The three men are older, and all are dressed in suits. On the left is a low table covered with a cloth and piled with books and papers, which spill onto the floor.
