    Description: 
    A Civil War soldier stands with proper left foot forward slightly. He is holding the barrel of his rifle with both hands. The stock rests on the ground. He is dressed in a knee-length overcoat and cap. The sculpture is mounted atop a square shaft decorated with insignia reliefs, including crossed cannons, and pedestal decorated with portrait relief busts of Lincoln, Washington and Grant. The monument is fenced.
