Description:
Full-length Victory figure stands on her own pedestal against a rectangular wall. The figure wears Classical robes, sandals, and a helmet. Her proper right hand holds the handle of a downward pointing sword and her proper left hand rests on a shield. The whole work stands on a long, horizontal base with a bench on each side. The base is accessible on each side by a small set of stairs.

Remarks:
Commissioned by the City of New Rochelle, the movement to erect the monument began in Jan. 1919, when the City Council created a citizens' committee to select an appropriate memorial. The cost of $35,500 was raised through public subscription. Angelique Hart Bieldski was the model for Victory. IAS files contain related articles from the Evening Standard Star (New Rochelle, New York), Dec. 12, 1921 and June 17, 1986.
