Description:
Standing figure of St. Joseph holds the infant Jesus in his proper left arm. He holds a lily across his chest in his proper left hand. Jesus holds a globe with a cross on top in his proper left hand and touches the stem of the lily with his proper right hand. Both wear flowing robes.

Remarks:
The Grotto is staffed by the Order of the Servants of Mary. It was founded in 1924 by Servite Friar Ambrose Mayer, who envisioned a place of retreat for experiencing the presence of God in nature. The sculptures were added at later various times. Statue placed in memory of Margaret and Burich O'Shea. IAS files include a pamphlet and brochure drafts from the Grotto.
