"Krehbiel was given special permission to paint studies of Velasquez's works by the Museo Del Prado. The works were later shown at The Art Institute of Chicago Copies of Old Masters exhibit in 1910." A sticker on the back from the Museo Nacional de Pentura Y Escultura is dated April 17, 1906, and titled by artist "Copy of Velasquez, Madrid, Spain."
