    Owner:
Jewish Community Center, Holocaust Memorial Center, 6600 West Maple Road, West Bloomfield Hills, Michigan 48322
    Remarks:
The Kaddish is a prayer for the dead, and the sculpture evokes the dead of the Holocaust. The sculpture was donated to the Jewish community through the initiative of Sam Shamie and the Holocaust Memorial Center in 1991. It was dedicated by the Holocaust Memorial Center, with the cooperation of the Jewish Community Center. It was originally displayed in the lobby of the Jewish Community Center, then installed on the grounds of the campus at the end of May, 1992. SOS! surveyor indicates that inscriptions in Hebrew may include foundry marks. A nearby plaque reads: Aharon Bezalel, Sculptor/Jerusalem Israel/ 1991. IAS files contain the text of another nearby plaque. IAS also files contain a related article from News from Holocaust Memorial Center (West Bloomfield, MI), Summer 1992, pg. 18.
