    Remarks:
Capellano was commissioned create these two relief panels for the old St. Paul's Church built by architect Robert Cary Long in 1812. When the church burned in 1854, the panels were saved and used on the new St. Paul's Protestant Episcopal Church built on the same spot. After purchasing blocks of stone for the reliefs, Robert Cary Long asked Capellano to create small clay models of Moses holding the Ten Commandments and Christ breaking bread as a means of determining Capellano's ability. Rembrandt Peale and Robert Cary Long split the cost of the models. The models were accepted and Capellano was commissioned to create both relief panels for $1,000.
