Inscription:  (On side of self-base:) A. DA PRATO Co./BOSTON, MASS/MADE IN ITALY Founder's mark appears. Description:  Full-length figure of Mary holding an infant Jesus in her arms. Both wear long robes and crowns. Jesus sits on Mary's proper left hand and is supported with her proper right hand. He holds a book in his proper left hand; his proper right hand is raised in blessing. The marble sculpture stands on a square granite block base. It was relocated to Immaculate Conception Church in 1994 to replace a figure of Mary that was vandalized and irreparably damaged earlier that year. The base the sculpture stands on was installed for the original sculpture at Immaculate Conception Church as part of the Marian year celebration in 1954.
