    Description: 
    The figure of Our Lady of LaSalette facing the figures of Maximin Giraud and Melanie Calvat, with their dog sleeping behind them. Our Lady is dressed in robes ornamented with roses around the edges, and a crown with roses, and stands with her arms folded at her chest. The two children, Maximin and Melanie, are standing facing Our Lady. Maximin is dressed in a knee-length cloak and holds his brimmed hat to his chest with proper right hands and a staff in front of him in his proper left hand. Melanie, dressed in an apron, crossed cape, and a cap, stands with her hands placed atop each other at waist level. Their dog reclines behind them with its head laid down. Each of the sculptures is placed atop a concrete pad set flush to the ground.

    Remarks: 
    One of group of sculptures at the Shrine depicting various scenes of the Apparition. The sculpture depicts the Virgin Mary's apparition in 1846 at LaSalette, France to two children, Maximin Giraud and Melanie Calvat who were watching their cows in the French Alps. The sculpture depicts the second phase of the Virgin's apparition as she speaks to Melanie and Maximin. IAS files contain articles from the Manchester Union Leader, June 1, 1951; The Canaan Reporter and Enfield Advocate (Canaan, New Hampshire), May 7, 1953, pg. 1.; and May 24, 1951, pg. 1. IAS files contain a photocopy of "LaSalette Shrine, Enfield, N.H., Walking Tour Guide."
