Hawthorne's "Gettysburg: Stories of Men and Monuments," Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides, 1988, pg. 19. The monument is listed on the National Park Service, List of Classified Structures (referred to as MN 28) and is referenced in the Gettysburg National Military Park Archives, vol. II.
