Description:
Figure of General
McClellan
seated on his horse holding the reins with his proper left hand. His proper right arm is bent at the elbow and his right hand rests on his right leg.
McClellan
is dressed in his military uniform and looks off into the distance to his proper left. The horse is alert as it reaches the top of a slight incline, its tail caught by the wind. The sculpture rests on a rectangular base adorned with bronze oak-leaf garlands and wreaths at each end. In the middle of each wreath is a small castle.

Remarks:
Sculpture was commissioned by the Grand Army of the Republic and was given to the City of Philadelphia. The equestrian sculpture was cast by the Ames Manufacturing Company and the bronze decorations on the base were cast by the Henry-Bonnard Bronze Company.
