stands on a pedestal cradled by a curved backdrop representing the world of his theory. He clutches a navigational tool in his proper right hand and a scroll in his proper left hand. He wears an open coat and knee-length garment, with medallion hanging from his neck. The sculpture is set on a stepped base.
