Remarks:
Gift of the United Singers of Brooklyn. IAS files contain a photocopy of a historic photograph which shows the decorative plaque on the front of the base. This historic photograph and related information can be found in the Prospect Park file at the Brooklyn Historical Society. For related information see Huntington, Edna, "Historical Markers and Monuments in Brooklyn," Brooklyn: Long Island Historical Society, 1952, pg. 3. IAS files contain a copy of an excerpt from Huntington publication. A Saengerfest is a festival of singers or songs. SOS survey noted that foundry could be "Lorne & Aylry, N.Y." although no foundry mark could be seen. Inventory cataloger assigned A. T. Lorme & E. Aubry for founder.
