    Full-length relief portrait of Walter Cronkite. He wears a suit and tie. His proper right hand is in his pants pocket. He leans on the edge of a desk with his proper left hand. He holds a sheaf of papers in his proper left hand. Behind him, on his proper left, is a spacecraft in launch position. An astronaut in a spacesuit is etched on the front of the desk. The self-framed concrete relief panel is affixed to a wall.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is one of three commissioned sculptural relief panels the artist created for the Academy. Cost of all three was $67,500. The panels were commissioned to meet the city's percent for art requirement. IAS files contain copies of related artist's and city contracts, correspondence and reports. IAS files contain copies of engineers' drawings.
