    Remarks: 
    Dr. Rice won $17,750 in the 1894 Brooklyn Handicap. The Brooklyn Handicap was one leg of the New York Triple Crown. The owner and trainer was Fred Foster and the jockey was Fred Taral (1867-1925), was was elected to the Racing Hall of Fame in 1955. Taral was born in Oklahoma and was the winner of three Brooklyn Handicaps (1893, 1894, and 1896). According to the Vogt Auction Galleries, the frame and wood panel were cut from a stable wall of a horse farm in Boerne, Texas.
