Description:
A granite bench set in an outcropping of assembled stone embedded with objects. Under the bench, embedded in mortar, is an amethyst. Above the bench is a geode and behind this are some of Chris Kerns' ashes. Other objects embedded in the piece include a guitar pick, a figurine of Elvis Presley, a tray with Elvis pictured on it, and an ash tray containing the words "Sinatra."

Remarks:
The sculpture is a memorial to Chris Kerns, a cyclist who died in September 1991. The dimensions of the bench are based on a story Chris Kerns was fond of in the Robert Fulgrum book, "It Was On Fire When I Laid Down On It." The granite was supplied by the Texas Granite Company of Marble Falls, Texas.
