Inscription:  (Incised to left of figure:) BASKETBALL/FOOTBALL/WRESTLING/SWIMMING/LACROSSE/HOCKEY/BOXING/TENNIS unsigned Description:  Full-length relief of a male athlete is installed on building facade. He wears a 1939 era football uniform with helmet. His proper left arm rests across his midsection and his proper right arm encircles a football. The sculpture is full-round at the top, in high relief at the upper parts of the figure and becomes more integral with the facade from about the legs down. The figure of "he Boy" and his companion sculpture "The Girl" (see IAS record NY001028) were designed by the architect Carl W. Clark and executed from plaster models by McCallom.
