Description:  Full-length male figures of an athlete and a student mounted on a facade above the entrance of the Michigan Union Building, separated by a bay window and facing outward. The athlete is wearing light-weight shorts and holds a cape or robe in his proper right hand at his proper right shoulder. The garment is slung across his back with folds appearing at his sides. A ball rests at his proper right foot and other sports equipment at his proper left side. The student is dressed in an academic robe. His proper left arm holds a book to his chest. His proper right hand holds a graduation cap at his side. Two books are stacked near his proper right foot.
