Description:
A series of six reliefs depicting figures working at various activities. The first relief is mounted over the school door and depicts six figures: a farmer with a flour sack and pitchfork, a mother holding her child by the hand, a father with his hand on his child's head, a nurse holding a mortar and pestle, and a coal miner holding a pick over his shoulder. The other five reliefs are installed along one side of the building below a series of windows. Each of the reliefs is inscribed with a phrase from the preamble to the Constitution.
The first of relief depicts two men shaking hands flanked by a figure seated at a typewriter and a figure standing at a filing cabinet at one end and at the other end a man setting a fruit basket down on the ground.
The second relief depicts a man seated behind a desk facing a line of people. First in line is a man with a shovel, followed by a woman standing beside her small child, a man holding a wrench, and a young woman holding a tablet.
The third relief depicts a factory worker leaning against his raised proper right leg as he talks to a farmer holding a large sheaf of wheat. The worker holds a lunch box in his proper left hand. Behind the worker is a factory and behind the farmer is a farmhouse.
The fourth relief depicts the profile of five soldiers marching forward, each carrying a rifles over his shoulders. Standing in front of the soldiers is a family of four, a father holding a shovel, a mother holding an infant, and a young boy holding a baseball bat.
The fifth relief depicts people working in a garden. On one side a man pushes a wheelbarrow of bricks and a man carries a shovel over his shoulder. Behind them there is a woman holding flowers and a little boy planting flowers.
