Description:
A bronze relief plaque with profile bust of Stephen Tyng Mather. Mather wears a suit jacket and tie. He looks toward a mountain and wooded scene. His name and life dates appear at the top of the plaque. Near the bottom of the plaque is a rendering of pine branches with cones and additional text. The base is a large natural stone which does not appear to be cut. The plaque is inlaid and angled at approximately 30 degrees.

According to National Park Service staff, the plaque was originally located in a high school in Connecticut. Its current site, the Stephen T. Mather Training Center, is located on the old Storer College campus, Conrad L. Wirth Hall/Anthony Hall.
