Full-length portrait of Ralph Waldo Beeson seated on a bench. He wears a three-piece business suit, tie and wing tips. His hair is combed straight back and he wears glasses. His proper right leg is crossed over his proper left leg with his proper right hand resting on his knee. He braces himself with his proper left arm, his hand holding the edge of the bench. The bench has an inscription on its top surface.

Remarks:
The statue commemorates Ralph Waldo Beeson, who at the age of 88, was a major benefactor to the University with a gift to the Divinity School. The Beeson School of Divinity at Samford University was named in his honor and he was awarded a Doctor of Humanities degree in 1985. IAS files contain an article on Beeson from an unidentified source.
