Caesars Palace, 3750 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Northwest corner of Flamingo & Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109
    Remarks:
Sculpture is a replica of a statue on Capitoline Hill, Rome, executed ca. 165 A. D. The Rebechi firm created the model for this statue from photographs of the original. Marcus Aureilus (121-180) was a Roman Emperor from 161-180 A. D., a Stoic philosopher and author of "Meditations." IAS files include a press packet from Caesars Palace which contains the text of the inscriptions in Latin, Italian and English and a citation to the book "Gardner's Art Through the Ages," (New York: Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich, 1991, pg. 238) which contains photographs of the original sculpture.
