    Description:
A standing figure of General Humphreys wearing a Civil War cavalry uniform, including a general's coat and riding boots. His proper right arm hangs at his side, holding his hat and a cavalry pouch in his proper right hand. His proper left arm is bent slightly with the hand resting on the hilt of his cavalry sabre. The sword is sheathed in its scabbard, which hangs by a strap from Humphreys' belt. The figure is mounted atop a pedestal of pink granite, on a three-level octagonal granite base. Bronze inscription lettering is applied to the marble faces of the pedestal and base. Four 8 foot gun barrels, standing vertically mark the corners of the open area surrounding the monument.
