    Description: 
    The monument consists of two bronze sculptures, one depicting a Vietnam soldier carrying his wounded comrade, and the other depicting a nurse rushing to help them. The sculptures are installed atop a large glacial rock. Below the rock is a circular plaza with a black granite shaft and a black granite marker listing the soldiers and nurses who died in Vietnam.

    The idea for the monument came from Bedford police officer Richard W. Dwyer in 1984. Funds for the monument were raised by local Vietnam veterans.
