Inscription:  (On black granite shaft: names of soldiers from Somers who lost their lives in Vietnam) (On black granite marker: names of American nurses who lost their lives in Vietnam) unsigned Description:  The monument consists of two bronze sculptures, one depicting a Vietnam soldier carrying his wounded comrade, and the other depicting a nurse rushing to help them. The sculptures are installed atop a large glacial rock. Below the rock is a circular plaza with a black granite shaft and a black granite marker listing the soldiers and nurses who died in Vietnam.
