Description:
The monument consists of two bronze sculptures, one depicting a Vietnam soldier carrying his wounded comrade, and the other depicting a
nurse
rushing to help them. The sculptures are installed atop a large glacial rock. Below the rock is a circular plaza with a black granite shaft and a black granite marker listing the soldiers and nurses who died in Vietnam.

Remarks:
The idea for the monument came from Bedford police officer Richard W. Dwyer in 1984. Funds for the monument were raised by local Vietnam veterans.
