    Description:
The sculpture consists of a ten-foot arc rising from a divided base. Under the arc are five life-size figures: a doctor, an old woman, a young boy, and a nurse holding a small female child. The hold woman walks with a cane, a purse hangs from a strap over her proper left arm. She wears a brimmed hat, shoes, dress, a beaded necklace and a ring on her proper right ring finger. The young African-American boy wears a baseball-type cap, and holds a baseball in his extended proper right arm. He balances on a crutch held in proper left arm. His proper left leg is in a cast. The nurse holds a Caucasian female child, who is wearing a romper suit and shoes, with a bow in her hair. The nurse wears a nurse's uniform, with a name tag reading Evalyn Grace R.N. (the artist's mother's maiden name), and a wrist-watch. The doctor wears a lab coat and carries a medical chart in his proper left hand. He wears a shirt, tie, trousers and name tag reading Orville Jarratt M.D. (artist's father's name). Some pens and pencils protrude from his pocket; a stethoscope hangs around his neck.
