Description:
Laid out on a circular base three black granite vertical panels and, in the center, a pyramid-shaped spire. Affixed to the center spire are five bronze military medallions, representing the five branches of the service. The side granite panels contain military collages depicting scenes from Korea and Vietnam, as well as a POW-MIA scene. One panel depicts a soldier in fatigues with a backpack and a helmet, aiming a gun into the brush. A second depicts a soldier wading through a stream, looking out with a stern face, pointing his gun toward the viewer. A third panel depicts a

Remarks:
IAS files contain copy of the Joliet Herald News (Joliet, IL), April 30, 1992 article discussing the memorial and fundraising efforts for the 3,4000 dollars needed to finish the engraving. Monument was designed to honor eighten fallen veterans from the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, and those missing in action. IAS files contain photocopy of Nov. 10, 1991 Dedication brochure.
