Subject:  Figure group Occupation -- Industry -- Mining Object -- Tool -- Drill Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- Colorado -- Leadville Sculpture Owner:  Administered by Lake County, County Commissioners, Leadville, Colorado 80461 Located 3.7 miles east of Leadville on County Road Route 2, Leadville, Colorado Remarks:  One of thirty sculptural replacement markers commissioned by Lake County for significant sites in the historic mining districts to the east of Leadville. The Ibex Mining Company operated a number of shafts in this area, known for gold and lead-silver ore. In 1925, Ibex property included over 50 miles of underground passages and five shafts.
