Description:
A clenched right fist rising from a
shackle
. The longitudinal half of the fist which includes the thumb, forefinger and middle finger is finished, while the remainder of the fist is rough stone.

Black granite was quarried at the Continental Quarry in Escondido, California. Founder of plaque on base misspelled the artist's name. IAS files contain a captioned newsphoto of the artist with the sculpture from the Sacramento Bee (Sacramento, CA), March 10, 1974, pg. A17.
