    Description: 
    Terra cotta figures decorate the southern and eastern pediments of a building. The eastern pediment depicts Indian lore. The southern pediment depicts the Arts and Sciences. Figures and objects depicted in the southern pediment include a wood-burning locomotive, a farmer plowing, Hermes holding a caduceus, the goddess of Liberty with a star over her head, an eagle with outspread wings below Liberty, a cannon and stack of cannon balls, a goddess of the arts, an easel, a bust with sculptor's tools, a globe and a chemical still.
