Remarks:
The architect, Edward Minor, asked Henry Berge to create three concrete sculptures for three different Baltimore housing projects built in the 1940s and 1950s. The first commission was for the McCulloh Homes project. Minor asked Berge to create a free-standing girl and boy for the placement at the entrance to the housing project. Berge cast the pieces in the backyard of his home and received $1,400 for the commission.
