    Remarks:
The sculpture was purchased by Walter Rosen for his private estate in Katonah, New York called Caramoor. A foundation set up by Rosen took over the estate in 1968. Now called the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, the foundation offers tours of the house and grounds and hosts a summer music program. Zephyr is one of a pair of sculptures on the grounds of Caramoor attributed to Italian sculptor Antonio Bonazzi. Bonazzi is believed to have created the sculptures in Padua, Italy between 1740 and 1750. The other sculpture in the pair is Flora (see IAS NY001201). The sculptures may have once been located in Venice, Italy. Zephyr was once installed at another location on the grounds before being moved to its present site. The sculpture has been covered with black plastic during the winter since 1992.
