    Remarks:
The urn was a gift to the city from the J. C. Nichols Company. It was purchased in 1925 by Herbert Hare from Verona, Italy, for the J. C. Nichols Company. At that time, he also purchased columns (KS000022), a fountain (KS000024, and vases. These separately purchased items were installed together in 1925 at their present site. In 1986, a large broken piece on the upper rim of the urn was replaced. In June 1993, a consolidant was applied to the surgary surface on the urn. In 1993, a supporting dowel was redone.
The plaque on the base of the urn, which lists the restoration donors, was added in 1986. IAS files contain citations to related newspaper articles from the Kansas City Star, dated June 10, 1986; June 21, 1986; August 15, 1986; and June 6, 1987, Real Estate section 1-93.
