Remarks:
A tribute to the Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei and the importance of tolerance for views that contradict accepted doctrines. The disc plate is etched with lines to denote the 21st day of each month; as the sun passes overhead, it casts a shadow through the disc that falls on the lines, providing a solar calendar.
