    Remarks:
Gift of the alumnae. This is a replica of the Nike of Samothrace, executed between 300-190 B. C., and discovered on the island of Samothrace in 1863. The original is at the Louvre Museum in Paris. This replaces a Nike donated by the class of 1929 in recognition of Armistice Day. That statue was removed due to weather damage and vandalism. IAS files include a related article from "Pioneer," v. 1, no. 2 (Winter 1982) Denton: National Alumnae Association of Texas Woman's University.
