Description:
Mythological figures are installed in a oval landscaped fountain area. A nude nymph sits at the back and wears her hair in a bun. In front of her on either side sit cherubic satyrs. The satyr on the right plays a pipe and the satyr on the left plays a small panpipe or flute and wears a wreath around its head. A
naiad
with a fish tail in place of legs sits in the front, holding a fish upright in both hands. The
naiad
wears a garland and water spouts from the fish's mouth.

Remarks:
Formerly located in a park in Muskogee, Oklahoma. When the residents of Muskogee objected to the figures' nudity, they were moved to Tulsa and placed in Woodward Park, which was being landscaped as part of a Works Progress Administration project. The satyr with the wreath and flute was stolen in July 1978 and recovered two weeks later. IAS files include related articles from the Tulsa Tribune, July 29, 1978, Aug. 1, 1978, Aug. 11, 1978 and Sept. 28, 1988.
