Flying above the boat from left to right are the figures of Eros, holding a bow with his extended proper left arm and his proper right arm pulled back; Icarus; and Hermes wearing a winged helmet and holding a caduceus, or magic wand, in his extended proper left hand. Alongside the boat swims the Triton holding a shell to his mouth with his proper left hand while holding a leash attached to three dolphins with his proper right hand.

Remarks:
Commissioned as part of the City of Baltimore's Percent for Art Program. The relief incorporates a preexisting window on the facade of the building. The window now functions as a "porthole" for the boat. The artist used his own profile as the model for Heracles. Ferebe Streett, the artist's daughter, and Michael LaSell, a student at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, assisted with the relief. The architectural firm, Van Fossen Schwab was responsible for the construction of the school building. IAS files contain a related article from The Sun (Baltimore, MD), Jan. 24, 1983.
