    Provenance:
Formerly located City Hall, Fifth & Saginaw Streets, Flint, Michigan
    Remarks:
The artist donated the sculpture to the City in 1977. Atkinson was artist in residence from 1974 to 1977, the first artist hired for the Artist-in-the-Schools program, a program funded by Michigan Council for the Arts. Controversy arose in 1988 when the sculpture was moved from its original City Hall site at Fifth & Saginaw Streets to a less prominent location at Seventh & Saginaw Streets. IAS files contain related articles from the Flint Journal, June 23, 1977, Aug. 21, 1988 and Sept. 6, 1988.
