    Description:
Black cherry doors carved in relief with scenes from the early pioneer history of Whidbey Island. The doors depict a coastal/agrarian scene, with an ox team pulling a plow in the center. To the proper left of the oxen, a team of horses pulls a log in the opposite direction. Directly behind the horses two men are standing on springboards, cutting down a tree with axes. In the top center of the relief two Indians are depicted; the one on the proper right holds a salmon. The ocean is visible in the far distant background as is the coastline. In the foreground of the relief, a woman in pioneer dress hauls a bucket. To her proper left, a young girl holds a bouquet of flowers. In front of the girl, another woman kneels down to work in a garden. To the woman's proper left, a farmer cuts wheat with a hand-held scythe. To the farmer's proper left, a young girl stands with her head turned back, watching the horse team pulling the log.
