    Description: 
    A rectangular granite marker with a bronze relief plaque depicting a General Henry Knox's men transporting artillery from Fort Ticonderoga to Cambridge, Massachusetts in the winter of 1775-1776. On the right side of the plaque, a team of oxen pulls a cannon while a boy with a rod tends to them. A uniformed soldier wearing a long coat and a tricorn hat stands in the background. On the left side of the plaque, a map illustrates Knox's route from Fort Ticonderoga to Cambridge.

    Remarks: 
    The monument commemorates the route take by General Henry Knox in the winter 1775-1776 to deliver artillery from Fort Ticonderoga to Cambridge, Massachusetts for George Washington's assault on the British in Boston. The monument was erected by the State of New York during the sesquicentennial of the American Revolution. Lake George Battlefield Park was once known as Lake George Battleground Park.
