Inscription:  (On plaque on front of base:) 1763 1913/TO HONOR/THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN/WHO REDEEMED/LANCASTER/FROM THE WILDERNESS/THIS MONUMENT IS ERECTED BY/THEIR LOYAL SONS AND DAUGHTERS/UPON THE ONE HUNDREDTH AND FIFTIETH/ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING/OF THE TOWN/JULY 6TH 1913 unsigned Description:  Bronze figure of a fox standing on three legs. His proper left front foot is raised and bent and his tail is lowered. He looks down with his head tilted to the proper left. The sculpture stands on a granite stone. Three stone basins descend in front of the sculpture.
