Inscription:  (Inscriptions highlighting events in St. Paul's history appear on the sculpture and plaques in the plaza) Description:  Landscaped plaza in an urban park overlooking the Mississippi River. There is a central fountain with an in-ground pool made up of two semi-circular ponds with four sprays each. A pergola stands behind the fountain. Four individual sculptures located between the pools are a paddle wheel over a base depicting water, a house shape with a bell over concentric circles, an ax-head over a log-pattern base and a house shape set over text. Six incised plaques embedded in the ground of the plaza show images relating to the settlement of St. Paul. Trees and grass line the plaza.
