    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a World War I soldier. He wears a uniform including boots, leggings, pants, jacket and cap. Attached to his jacket belt are a number of small pouches, a canteen and a bayonet. He holds a rifle against his proper right leg; the butt of the gun rests on the ground. The granite sculpture stands atop a rough-hewn granite base. Decorating the base are bronze reliefs: on the front is the seal of the United States; on the back is the state seal of New Hampshire; on the sides of the base are a United States flag and rifle. The base ends in two steps.

    Cost of the monument was $5,000. Funds for the monument were raised through private donation and town appropriation. IAS files contain copies of related excerpts from George C.
