    Over 100 brick reliefs commemorating Boston's history are set into the pavement along Winthrop Lane. Among the people, events and places depicted: Boston Tea Party, Boston Marathon, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Common 1703, Underground Railroad, Paul Revere, and Boston Celtics.

    Remarks: 
    Winthrop Lane, originally known as Snow Lane, was restored in 1985 through the support of the Browne Fund Commission. The Lane was designed by CBT/Childs, Bertman, Tseckares, & Casendino, Inc., architects. Kate Burke and Gregg LeFevre created the Boston bricks. IAS files contain an excerpt from an unidentified source which gives a partial listing of subjects depicted on the bricks.
