    Description: 
    Figure of a shirtless young man in work pants and boots. He wears a floppy hat and holds his shirt bunched up in his proper left hand at his waist. He holds an axe vertically at his proper right side, the head of the axe resting on the ground and his proper right hand resting atop the axe handle. The sculpture is installed on a stone and concrete plaza at the entrance to the former Civilian Conservation Corps Camp No. 3781. At the front of the plaza is a stone bench, and at the back of the plaza is a stone wall featuring two archways and an inscription plaque.

    An inscription plaque on the stone archway at the back of the plaza reads: THE WORKING MAN / THIS STATUE HONORS THE MEN WHO SERVED / IN CO. 3781 OF THE CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS CAMP / DAMASCUS BETWEEN 1935 AND 1941. THEY JOINED / MORE THAN THREE MILLION OTHERS NATIONWIDE DURING / THE "GREAT DEPRESSION" IN AN INNOVATIVE FEDERAL / PROGRAM TO DEVELOP AND PRESERVE OUR NATURAL / RESOURCES WHILE REBUILDING OUR NATION'S ECONOMY. / DEDICATED TO DAN R. DIPERT, ONE OF THOSE MEN, BY THE DAN DIPERT FAMILY FUND.
    Funded through the efforts of the Dan Dipert family. The statue is located on private ground that is designated as a National Historic Preservation site. The site is the original location of the Cilvilian Conservation Corps Camp No. 3781 located at 345 Camphill Road, Damascus, Arkansas.
