The mural along the wall above the judges bench illustrates American law though a scene of the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787 in Philadelphia. Washington is in the chair behind a table on a low dais. In the right foreground are Madison, with cloak on his arm, and Alexander Hamilton, standing. Farther back, near Washington, stands Jefferson talking to another delegate whose back is turned. In the group of four men standing to the left in the foreground, is Benjamin Franklin, his unpowdered hair hanging loose around his head.
