    Remarks:
Sculpture was funded by a Decentralization Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts. It was created as part of a project called C.A.K.E.S. (Connecting Artists and Kids through Environmental Sculpture). Teacher Dianne Eagle facilitated the week-long workshop in which eight 7-10 year old students helped the artist design a sculpture that represented an important aspect of local culture and economy. In 1990, the sculpture was installed on the grounds of the Youth Museum in nearby Hopewell, New York. In 1994, the Youth Museum closed. Weak welds and parts that have fallen off were repaired by students of the Welding Program at the Wayne/Finger Lakes BOCES (Board of Cooperative Education Services) at Flint, New York. IAS files contain a related information sheet.
