    Bust of mature man with beard and moustache, wearing a small circular hat and holding a quill pen in the proper right hand. Hand is pressed across upper chest, fingers stretched straight outwards; hands and wrist cradle a shield or bookcover, emblazoned with a cross, against the figure's chest.
