    Provenance:
Formerly in the collection of City of Cleveland, Rockefeller Park, Yugoslavian Cultural Gardens, Cleveland, Ohio
    Remarks:
IAS files contain a copy of Clara Lederer's "Their Paths Are Peace," Cleveland, OH: The Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation, 1954, pg. 76, 77. This bronze bust was originally located at the Yugoslavian Cultural Gardens, in Cleveland, a gift of the Serbs of Cleveland. Sometime between 1950 and 1970, the statue was found in a creek in the Gardens and was put into storage at the greenhouse garage off Martin-Luther Boulevard, with six others from the garden. Subsequently, it was given to the St. Sava Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Parma, Ohio in exchange for a fiberglass copy to be placed in the garden (see IAS record OH000526). Njegosh was the Prince-Bishop of Montenegro, he was also a poet and a philosopher.
